The NZ dollar was propelled higher by the introduction of one line in today's policy statement from the RBNZ. Wheeler stated that “some further increase in the OCR is expected to be required at a later stage.” This was enough to propel NZDUSD through 0.7700 and then 0.7800 in under 5 minutes.
