The advance estimate of US third-quarter 2014 GDP growth was 3.5%, which was above market expectations for a 3.0%. Although solid, the third-quarter headline increase was still down from an outsized 4.6% gain in the second quarter when activity was rebounding from a weather-related 2.1% decline in the first quarter.
